General Summary:
- Provides first and second level support to PC network users on multiple platforms and operating systems. Installs, configures, tests, maintains and supports local and regional area network hardware, software, software applications and printers. Includes problem recognition, research, isolation and resolution steps. Strong focus on customer service, problem-solving and communication skills.
Essential Functions:
- Solve day-to-day problems that are encountered by
users of the Enterprise LAN Network. This involves identifying the problem and
completing the proper research to alleviate the problem from occurring again.
- Interviews users to collect information about the
problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of
error. Recommends and/or performs remedial actions to correct problems.
- Diagnose and repair personal computer hardware,
peripherals and printers. Common brands include IBM, Dell and HP.
- Diagnose, repair and maintain software operating
systems. Common brands include Windows 2000 professional, Windows XP
professional.
- Diagnose, repair and maintain software applications.
Common brands include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Access,
Lotus Notes, McAfee Anti-Virus, Avaya Support Track, Novell Client, AT&T
Global Network dial-in, etc.
- Track all support calls thru tracking software.
- Assist with developing procedural policies.
- Ability to meet deadlines, self motivated and can work independently.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Certification or equivalent experience with PC
operating systems – Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
- Certification in hardware support (A+ Certification)
or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret user manuals
and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints
from users, management and team members.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish
facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Team player.
- This position requires the ability to physically
lift PC equipment up to 40 pounds.

Duration:
- 3 Month Contract to Hire.
Rate:
- $17.50 hourly rate as consultant. $35k-$45k annual salary + benefits as employee.
